Venkat Ramana Sangam, originally from Hyderabad, India, is a Bachelor of Dental Surgery graduate currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Health Informatics at Indiana University. His academic and professional journey bridges the fields of dentistry and healthcare technology.
At the Purkayastha lab, Dr. Sangam is engaged in developing clinical decision support modules for the OpenMRS Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. His work focuses on creating solutions that can be implemented in low-resource settings, aiming to provide primary care physicians with recommendations for tests and procedures at a quality comparable to specialists.
Venkat’s research interests are centered on integrating artificial intelligence into dental radiographs and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
