Subina Ghimire is a graduate of Bachelor of Dental Surgery currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Health Informatics at Indiana University, Indianapolis. Her research interests focus on the intersection of mHealth applications and Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, particularly emphasizing Human-AI collaboration in medicine.
At the Purkayastha lab, Subina has honed her expertise in 3D modeling, building upon her skills in dental mould development. She has also begun work on Flutter mobile app development for the NeoRoo project. This project involves creating an app that interfaces with the NeoWarm biomedical device, capturing continuous vitals from neonatal ICUs and providing decision support to healthcare workers in busy NICUs. Her work is slated for implementation in hospital wards across Kenya, India, and Riley Hospital in Indianapolis.
Dr. Ghimire aims to explore the development and implementation of mobile health technologies, leveraging her clinical background in conjunction with cutting-edge AI research. By approaching these innovations from a clinician’s perspective, she aspires to create more effective early warning systems that can improve patient outcomes and reduce mortality rates. Additionally, Subina is passionate about utilizing machine learning to enhance clinical decision support tools within electronic health records, enabling healthcare providers to make more informed and timely treatment decisions.
