Regina Merine completed her MS in Health Informatics in Aug 2022 from IUPUI.

Regina studied for a Master’s in Health Informatics at IUPUI. She has a pharmacy background and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Rajiv University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, India. Her research interests lie in healthcare data analysis, visualization, and management. Regina was involved in the development of the LibreHealth cost-of-care mobile app and the study of the usability of the app at safety-net hospitals in two large US cities.

She published and presented as the lead author at peer-reviewed venues during her time at the PLHI lab:

  1. Risks and Benefits of AI-generated Text Summarization for Expert Level Content in Graduate Health Informatics
  2. Comparative analysis of published chargemasters for interventional radiology procedures across the United States
  3. LibreHealth Cost-of-Care Explorer: Mobile Application for Patient-friendly Access to Hospital Chargemasters

She also has an ardent interest in machine learning and generates future predictions. She worked as a graduate ambassador for the School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI.

She works as a Research Scientist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
