Keerthika Sunchu graduated with an MS in Health Informatics in May 2025.
With a background in pharmacy from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, Keerthika blends clinical knowledge with technical expertise in health informatics. As a Graduate Research Assistant at the Purkayastha Lab for Health Innovation, she led the Docker-based deployment of OpenEMR instances used to train over 500 students and built ETL pipelines with SQL, Python, and Talend to migrate and validate clinical data from MIMIC-IV to OpenEMR.
Her capstone project with IU Health developed a SMART on FHIR application for cirrhosis management, and her work has contributed to publications at AMIA 2024 (including a Best Paper Award) and IEEE CMBS 2024. She is skilled in Python, R, SQL, machine learning, and healthcare data standards such as SNOMED, ICD, LOINC, and FHIR.
