Ph.D. at Purkayastha Laboratory
Position 1 (PhD-only): We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. candidate to work in one of the following areas of cybersecurity:
- Privacy-preserving architectures for health data sharing and information security
- Use of biometrics and balancing privacy and security with usability
- Privacy-preserving computation for distributed learning and healthcare data management.
We look favorably on applicants who can demonstrate a knowledge of cryptography, health data/information management in Electronic Health Records Systems, Information Security, and who have strong programming and mathematical skills. Required Qualifications: Graduate degree (MS, MSc) in Computer Science, Information Science, Biomedical Informatics, or related field. If English is not your first language, you must have an IELTS score (or equivalent) of 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in each component. GRE scores should be competitive.
Funding Details: The scholarship will cover tuition fees and provide an annual stipend at the standard Indiana University rates for at least three years. The scholarship is available from September 2022.

Ph.D./Post Doctoral Researcher at Purkayastha Laboratory
Position 2 (PhD/postdoc candidates):We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D./postdoc candidate to work in one of the following areas of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning for Healthcare:
- Human-machine interaction for decision making
- Use of knowledge representation and data curation for ML in Healthcare
- Computer Vision in Radiology imaging.
- Natural language processing in Radiology reports and clinical notes
We look favorably on applicants who can demonstrate a knowledge of computer vision, machine learning, data curation using semantic web, ontologies, knowledge graphs, and who have strong programming and mathematical skills.Within your statement, please make sure to discuss which area of research you are interested in and your academic background to support this.
